Biography

Dr. Heidi Dambach, a board-certified radiologist with a subspeciality/certificate of added qualification in neuroradiology, has a unique journey in the medical field. Her passion for head and neck imaging is evident in her work. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from The School of Medicine at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY, and then embarked on an internal medicine internship at New York Medical College, Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester in New Rochelle, NY. Her journey continued with a diagnostic radiology residency at Yale University School of Medicine, Hospital of Saint Raphael in New Haven, CT, where she served as Chief Resident. She further honed her skills at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA in Los Angeles, CA, completing a diagnostic neuroradiology fellowship. Dr. Dambach is a proud member of the American Society of Neuroradiology and the American Roentgen Ray Society. She is also conversant in Cantonese.

Her dream of becoming a physician began when she was young. As a child, she was a frequent visitor to the emergency room. The physicians taking care of her intrigued her. She wanted to be able to help others like they were helping her. As for why Dr. Dambach decided to become a radiologist, the passion of a radiologist who spoke to her during an anatomy lecture piqued her interest in the field. She says, “Radiology is a field that works with other physicians to care for a patient; it is like a puzzle that we help to solve.” Her favorite part of the job is when she can help provide the physician and the patient an answer to the cause of the patient’s concern. She finds listening to patients’ concerns the most important aspect of patient care.

Dr. Dambach is originally from Honolulu, Hawaii. Outside medicine, she and her family volunteer for a non-profit organization that helps vulnerable individuals, families, and older adults achieve well-being, health, and stability. Dr. Dambach likes spending time with family, traveling, riding bikes, and being outdoors in her spare time.
