Biography

Dr. Alan Chu is a bilingual medical doctor, fluent in Mandarin. He is board certified in radiology and specialized in diagnostic radiology and emergency radiology. He earned his medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Chu began his studies at Polytechnic Institute of New York University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in life sciences, and Master of Science in electrical engineering and computer science. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at Albany Medical Center, where he completed a fellowship and served as Chief Resident. Dr. Chu also completed an internal medicine internship at Saint Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York, NY. He has a particular interest in body imaging and emergency radiology.

Dr. Chu was inspired to pursue a career in medicine at the age of twelve when he had learned about his grandmother practicing Western medicine in his grandfather’s church in the Chinese Mainland. Dr. Chu’s favorite part of his job is performing interventional procedures which immediately impact the patient’s health. He also enjoys interpreting imaging studies and assisting providers in managing their patients.
